Geography of a Football Part 5

Hi,
Betsy the American Football here. I'm an American football now since I met my good friend, George. He's a British football and he's a bit on the round side but he has a funny accent and a good personality.

I am now at a place called "Washington D.C.". I am on my way to be thrown around by the "Redskins" in the FedEx Field. These guys must have got some serious sunburn if they have red skin. I'd say they look really funny. But they must feel really sore when they get tackled if they're burnt all over.

The main landmark I saw in Washington D.C. was a very large white building with a rounded wall at the back and tall white pillars. It was located at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW. The human architecture looks like it was built in 1800. George told me that it was the home of the President of the United States of America...... I have no idea who he is but I'd say he's like my old farmer. He liked to build fences.

Unfortunately this will be my very last blog. 😲😲😲😲😰😰😰😰 I'm sorry everyone, but I have no longer the time to write blogs now that my career as a professional football is taking off. I wish you all a goodbye. This is Betsy, for the last time, OVER AND OUT!

Geography of a Football Part 4

Hi,
Betsy the Football/Ex-Cow here. I've finally understood as to why the humans keep beating me up. Apparently, they're playing a game of their own making called Football and they don't understand that we feel pain and sadness when we get kicked around by them. A fellow football by the name of Daisy gave me this information during a van ride to another football stadium.

On the drive to our next stadium, the box I was in was slightly open and I was able to peak out through the van window and see the landmarks. We came to a city called "San Francisco". The first thing I saw was a giant red bridge. It looks to be 1280 metres in length which is just under one human mile long. I would guess it was built in 1937 and that it is the 14th longest bridge in the world. A signpost told me it was called "Golden Gate". I could only see the very middle of the sign so there must be more to the name. It's strange because it is certainly not gold, it is red and it is a bridge not a gate. But I have come to learn that humans have very strange names. Here is a picture driving up to the bridge:

I have now arrived at another stadium this one is called "Levi's Stadium: Home of the San Francisco 49ers". I don't if all the players here are 49 years old or if there is 49 of them but I will find out shortly and end this blog here. Goodbye! 😀

Geography of a Football Part 3

Hi,
I am Betsy the Football and ex-cow. I have been brought from the Wilson Sports Factory to a place called "MetLife Stadium: Home of the New York Giants and the New York Jets". I have never met a giant before so I hope this family are nice and they don't squish me. I'd say they're really big because this house of theirs looks massive from the outside. Also it seems kind of strange that a giant would share its home with a jet, but I hope I can ride one of those really fast jets. That would be fun.

I have been brought through the giants home to a massive garden they have in the centre of their house. I think somebody might have vandalised there grass as there are lots of white lines and writing on it. It's such a shame as the grass is cut really well. There are many humans in this stadium, mostly surrounding the pitch but some are on it. The giants must be holding some kind of party. I am brought into the centre, given to one human and a whistle was blown. I was just admiring the large screen at the top corner of the stadium when suddenly the human holding me kicks me high into the air. I am thrown around, kicked and grabbed. I don't know why they are doing this to me but it is extremely painful. However, on occasions I am kicked so high into the air I can look out of the stadium and see the human city.

I see a sign board, saying "Welcome to New York City", that must be what this place is called. I can see a very tall building with a large spire on the top. It looks to be about 1454 feet tall with 102 stories. Judging by the human architecture I'd say it was built in 1931. The tanning process has given me extremely long and detailed vision and I can see that the building is called the "Empire State Building" and is located on 5th avenue between 33rd and 34th street.

The humans have finally stopped beating me, I am being taken again off to another destination. I hope they don't beat me up again, I ache all over, but I will miss New York City and it's shame I didn't get to meet a giant. But that is it for today. Betsy the Football, OVER AND OUT!

Geography of a Football Part 2

Hi,

I am the brain of Betsy the cow, preserved through the use of modern science! Unfortunately, Betsy was killed in that 'Slaughterhouse' place and my meat was given to the local butcher. However, my cowhide underwent a special tanning process to be made into leather. My skin had to have the hair  removed and then be washed thoroughly for several days to prepare for the tanning. A special compound called Cromu... Chrome... Chromium Sulphate, or something like that, was then mixed in water with my cowhide. This completed the tanning process and made my skin more durable and more resistant to decomposition. My cowhide had now become leather.

My tanned cowhide was then transferred to 'Wilson Sports  Factory' to be made into sometime called a 'Football'. This manufacturing process began with my leather being cut into a bend. The bend was cut into four equally sized panels in a pointed oval shape as shown:
A human manufactured lining was sewn to each panel to prevent the panels from growing or stretching out of shape when they are being used. Several holes were then punched into the panels, most were used for the lacing of the football while one was kept for the inflation needle. Next the panels were sewn together using hot wax, a rubber bladder was inserted between the panels and the ball was laced. Finally, to top it all off, I was inflated!

I had now become what I had always been destined to be .... a FOOTBALL! ............ I have no idea what a football is but I will find out soon as I am now being transferred on board a van, where the destination is I do not know. I'll end this blog here but I'll be back soon.

Geography of a Football Part 1

Hi,

My name is Betsy the cow and I live happily on a farm in Illinois near Chicago. My farmer looks after me and keeps me healthy. He is currently taking me in his truck to I know not where. I live a happy life sitting around and eating grass. Here is a selfie I took the other day:

We have arrived at our destination. The sign outside reads: "L&M SLAUGHTERHOUSE". It is a shame I don't understand such words in the human language or I might know what place this is. I am about to enter the building so I'll end this blog and talk to you guys on the other side!
